Explore & More exhibits are designed for children from birth to age ten, with plenty to interest older children and adults.
Big Feats for the Littlest Hands is designed for the museum’s youngest visitors. Infants will love to crawl, climb and explore this exhibit full of hands-on, feet-on, and belly-on activities. Toddlers will enjoy more challenging exhibits such as a mini balance-beam, puzzling activities and more.
Your kids will love to try their hands at building with the 12’ by 12’ section of a house in the early stages of construction.
They can build foundations with light-weight pretend cement block and bricks; organize plumbing pipes using real PVC piping; lay real flooring and even place siding on the outside of the house. Realistic - but safe - kid-sized tools and construction hats let their imagination run wild.
Through an innovative wall cross-section, kids can see a steady stream of current (represented by lights) and how the flip of a switch brings electricity to lamps, doorbells, dryers, and more. Custom-designed puzzles, a challenging arch activity, and blocks used to create buildings from around the world add to the fun!
Exploring food - from how it grows to how people use it - is all part of the fun! After picking "vegetables" from the museum's custom-built garden, fishing in the pond, or exploring an apple tree, kids can sell the food at a farm stand, cook it with other plastic "ingredients" in the kitchen, or serve it to other visitors.

Kids can also explore the foods of other countries at the International Diner or play a cool matching game. A food pyramid activity encourages kids to think about creating a balanced diet.
You and your children can immerse yourselves in the cultures of four different countries - Mexico, Netherlands, South Africa, and Vietnam - as you explore the Culture Corner. These unique exhibits are designed to teach children more about the world around them as we celebrate differences and similarities of people throughout the world.
Brain Teasers, challenges, and games are all part of the fun for your kids as they "figure it out" on their own or with your help! The degree of difficulty of challenges vary, so the entire family can be part of the fun.
